Panchakarma therapy

Panchakarma Therapy at Sreesurya Ayurveda

Panchakarma is the cornerstone of Ayurvedic healing—a powerful detoxification and rejuvenation therapy that restores balance, removes deep-seated toxins, and revitalizes the mind and body. At Sreesurya Ayurveda, we offer authentic Panchakarma therapy under the expert supervision of Dr. Surya Sreekumar, who has over 14 years of experience in classical Ayurvedic practice.

The word Panchakarma means “five actions” and refers to five carefully designed procedures that cleanse the body at the cellular level. Unlike temporary relief treatments, Panchakarma works at the root cause of disease, resetting your system for optimum health and vitality.

Our Panchakarma therapy includes:

  1. Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis) – Controlled vomiting to expel toxins accumulated in the upper gastrointestinal tract, often recommended for Kapha-related disorders like asthma, obesity, and allergies.

  2. Virechana (Therapeutic Purgation) – Herbal laxatives used to cleanse the liver and intestines, ideal for Pitta disorders like skin issues, acidity, and liver conditions.

  3. Basti (Medicated Enema) – Administering medicated oil or decoctions through the rectum to balance Vata dosha; highly effective for joint pain, constipation, and neurological issues.

  4. Nasya (Nasal Cleansing) – Introduction of herbal oils through the nose to treat sinusitis, migraines, allergies, and hormonal imbalances.

  5. Raktamokshana (Bloodletting) – A specialized procedure for purifying the blood and treating skin diseases, inflammation, and hypertension (offered selectively and with expert evaluation).

Before initiating Panchakarma, a preparatory phase called Purvakarma (which includes Snehana – oil massage and Swedana – steam therapy) is done to loosen toxins and prepare the body. The post-cleansing phase, Paschatkarma, involves specific dietary and lifestyle regimens to rebuild strength and maintain the benefits.

Each Panchakarma plan is customized to the individual’s constitution, health condition, and season, ensuring safe and effective detoxification. It is especially beneficial for those suffering from chronic diseases, stress, fatigue, infertility, hormonal imbalance, and lifestyle-related disorders.

At Sreesurya Ayurveda, Panchakarma is conducted in a hygienic, serene, and nurturing environment with genuine Ayurvedic oils and herbs. Our goal is not just to treat illness but to restore harmony between body, mind, and spirit.
